PathPoint is looking for a full time Employment Specialist!

Schedule: 40 hours/week. M-F 8-5 (variable), Occasional evenings and weekends.
Starting Wage:  $21.50 + bonuses for placements & retentions

As an Employment Specialist, you'll meet with employers and establish trusting, collaborative partnerships with the goal of securing competitive job placements. This involves spending time in the community, prospecting and generating leads, and championing the abilities of people with disabilities.
The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional evenings and weekends. The work environment will be a flexible mix of being in the office and in the community.

What You'll Do:

  • Build relationships with individuals who have mental health and/or developmental disabilities to assist them through all stages of the job search process: assess vocational skills and interests; develop person-centered goals; identify barriers to employment and connect to community resources; write customized resumes; conduct mock interviews; identify and connect to appropriate job openings; support with applications.
  • Partner with CA Department of Rehabilitation and Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness to provide comprehensive, wraparound employment services.
  • Work with local businesses to identify labor needs and to promote PathPoint and the hiring of people with disabilities. Identify and track prospective employment leads by networking with business and community partners.
  • Maintain current knowledge of hiring incentives and work experience/training programs; act as a resource to employers concerning the ADA, tax credits, and other questions concerning the hiring of people with disabilities.
  • Document activities, maintain confidential and contract-compliant case files, complete and submit required reports, attend internal/external meetings and functions.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching to individuals as needed.
What We're Looking For:
  • Minimum one year of job coaching, job development, mental health services, or related human services field experience OR applicants with less experience who have education in social work, psychology, vocational rehabilitation, or related fields and professional experience with transferrable skills will be considered
  • Prior experience in sales a plus!
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Strong interviewing and writing skills
  • Ability to adapt approaches and strategies to motivate and support job seekers
  • Dynamic and professional interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly organized, priorities-focused, and results-driven
  • Must have reliable means of transportation for regular travel in the Santa Barbara area
